Custom Orthotics

1.       Create a symmetrical foundation for the body

2.       Provide critical shock absorption that will reduce shock of all muscles, joints and nerves in the body

3.       Improve sensory-motor responses in the body (the body's intuitive intelligence system)

When deciding on orthotics, there are several considerations:

Rigid or flexible

    • Rigid orthotics restrict normal movement of the foot, producing abnormal stress on the structures above during the normal gait cycle
    • Rigid orthotics provide NO shock absorption benefits
    • We recommend flexible orthotics

Weight-bearing or non-weight-bearing casting

    • As with x-rays, it is recommended to be fitted for custom orthotics in the weight-bearing position so the foot can be measured in the greatest degree of stress, rather than in a position where the “drop” of the arch from weight- bearing is not seen.
    • We recommend weight-bearing measurements.

Full length or ¾'s

    • Full length orthotics are recommended with tie shoes, running shoes, boots, etc.
    • 3/4 orthotics are recommended in shoes such as heels for women, soccer or football shoes or loafers with a shallow back. Which orthotic is correct

Orthotic Options

    • Ultra-Step (full)-wonderful quality for majority of people with tie shoes, running   shoes or boots
    • Ultra-Step 3/4-heeled shoes for women, soccer, wrestling, cycling or football shoes
    • Ultra-Softhotic-for supinators or people with highly sensitive feet
    • Extreme XS-for active individuals with heavy demands on their feet
